Palliative and End of Life Care Refresh

In 2013, Marie Curie initiated a Priority Setting Partnership to ask people living with serious life-limiting illness, their loved ones, and health and social care professionals what they think future research should focus on.

About the Palliative and End of Life Care Refresh Priority Setting Partnership

Led by Marie Curie and involving more than 30 other organisations, the survey had over 1,400 participants and enabled Marie Curie to identify key research and policy priorities.

While much progress has been made in addressing many of the research priorities previously identified, a lot has changed since 2015; research on some of the identified priorities has been undertaken and we have all been affected by the Covid 19 pandemic, in different ways.

Marie Curie needs to check in again with people affected by dying, death and bereavement to find out which of the original priorities are still important to them and what new research priorities there should be.
